As a Senior Attorney, Ryan’s practice at Optimal primarily focuses on providing counsel and guidance to startup companies, advising them on day-to-day corporate matters, formations, angel financings, bridge financings, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, complex corporate transactions, and related matters.

While attending Duke Law as a joint degree student, Ryan worked as an associate at Duke Capital Partners (f/k/a Duke Angel Network) and was a teaching assistant for the Director of Duke’s Law & Entrepreneurship Program for the “Advising the Entrepreneurial Client” course.

Prior to attending law school, Ryan worked in commercial banking in Chicago.
